Following the announcement on 5 June that the Education Funding Agency has purchased the Highridge site on Upper Warren Avenue for The Heights primary school, I immediately set about distributing a residents’ survey to gauge local opinion on the decision. I felt it vital to consult directly with my constituents on this issue and consequently delivered over 4,000 surveys throughout the local area.
When I closed the survey on Friday 11 July I had received 610 survey responses which have since been examined and categorised. As promised I have published the results, and a full breakdown of the responses relating to the school’s proposed location can be found in the link below.
I stated at the outset that I would be unable to take anonymous responses into consideration when assessing the strength of local opinion, I therefore had to eliminate these from the final total received. Moreover, not all respondents answered every question, and for some questions more than one answer has been provided; thus in some cases the numbers may deviate from the total survey responses received.
I'm very grateful to everyone who responded to my survey. It has been incredibly useful and informative. I welcome any additional comments you may wish to provide.
