Rob has welcomed new statistics that show the number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance – the main unemployment benefit – has fallen by 25,000 in the South East region.
Welcoming the figures, Rob said:
‘It’s great news that the number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance is falling in the South East. Reading East has seen a substantial drop in unemployment over the last year and these figures show that the wider economy is recovering as well.
‘British business is rising to the challenge of creating jobs and we’re determined to ensure that all hardworking people benefit from the recovery. There is always more to do, but these figures are encouraging.’
