Further to my recent update on the future of Chiltern Edge, I wanted to confirm to parents, teachers and all concerned with the school that I have written to the Regional Schools Commissioner reinforcing my position - and indeed that of many others - that academy status is the right option in order to secure a brighter future for Chiltern Edge.
I am determined to deliver this lasting solution and have urged the Regional Schools Commissioner to take a proactive interest in expediting the process. This can help ensure the stability and certainty required by parents, pupils and teachers.
People will no doubt have been reassured by the confirmation last week that Oxfordshire County Council is going to pursue the academy sponsor route. I have held further constructive conversations to this effect with its leader, Cllr Ian Hudspeth.
For those parents who have written to me personally, I will continue to provide each and every one of you with an individual reply, but hopefully these regular updates will contribute to demonstrating my ongoing commitment to the school and its future.
