I share the concerns regarding the situation faced by those who are homelessness. It is right that the Government focus on prevention and I am glad that it is providing support for prevention in a number of ways.
The Government recognises that the homelessness prevention funding has been a powerful tool in combatting homelessness. Indeed, Government investment in local authority and voluntary sector homelessness services has contributed to local authorities preventing 935,800 households from becoming homeless since 2010.
Over £500 million was provided in the last Parliament to help homeless people and I am glad that an additional £139 million will be made available over the next four years to continue this support.
