I think the British electorate overwhelmingly voted to retain FPTP in 2011 and I strongly believe this was the right decision. In my view, FPTP is decisive; giving voters the chance to kick out Members of Parliament they are fed up with. It is also simple and clear: the candidate who gets the most votes wins. This means it is cheap to administer and comes with little bureaucracy.
Our current electoral system is one of the UK's biggest exports, used by half the voters in the world. I I believe that we should respect the decision made by the British Public through the vote in 2011.
